PHOENIX - This winter, the Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort will usher in the “most wonderful time of the year” with a festive array of traditional holiday experiences that feature desert chic twists, perfect for couples, families and friends. Opportunities for seasonal merry-making range from ice-skating on an outdoor rink, a tea-sommelier led holiday afternoon tea, cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus and an array of themed celebrations.

Sun Splashed Holidays On Ice
Celebrate the spirit of the season with the Arizona Biltmore’s answer to Rockefeller Center with an al fresco ice skating rink, situated on the historic Squaw Peak Lawn which will be dotted with holiday lights and surrounded by majestic mountain vistas. Throughout the season guests may rent skates ($15 per session) and hit the rink from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday; noon-8:00 p.m. on Friday; and 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on weekends. For icy inspiration during the first week of December, grab a front row seat to view the art and athleticism of professional ice skaters with exhibitions from stars of the hit stage show, “Holidaze.”

Holiday High Tea
A time-honored tradition for more than 86 years, the Arizona Biltmore’s High Tea is designed by Tea Sommelier, Kevin Doyle and features a seasonally inspired menu of sandwiches, pastries and loose leaf teas, presented on fine china. To experience a beloved holiday twist, the Biltmore Bear Tea offers a unique themed menu and includes a cuddly Biltmore Teddy Bear to take home as a memento. Both afternoon tea menus will be presented in the festively decorated, signature restaurant, Wrights. High Tea is priced at $45 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. The Biltmore Bear Tea is priced at $65 for adults and $45 for children 12 and under.

Christmas Dining
Wrights at the Biltmore
Distinguished signature restaurant, Wrights at the Biltmore will offer an elegant four-course Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dining experience. Highlights of the indulgent menu include Lobster and Celeriac Bisque; Pistachio Crusted Foie Gras Torchon with Cranberry and Ginger Jam; Tri-Color Beets and Wild Arugula with Soft Brie, Spiced Pecan and Sherry Vinaigrette; Roasted Turkey Breast and Confit with Fennel and Sausage Stuffing, Potato Puree, Green Beans and Cranberry-Orange Jam; Coriander Rubbed Lamb Loin with White Cheddar Polenta, Eggplant Puree and Glazed Root Vegetables; and dessert options of Egg Nog Brûlée and Chocolate Peppermint Cheesecake. The four-course menu is priced at $95 for adults, $45 for children 12 and under and will be served on Christmas Eve from 5:00pm – 10:00pm and on Christmas Day from 1:00pm – 9:00pm.

Frank & Alberts

A favorite outpost for comfort flavors with Sonoran style, Frank & Alberts will offer a Christmas Eve three course specialty menu with selections that include Lobster-Butternut Bisque; Grilled Filet with Wild Mushrooms, Root Vegetable Puree, Hand Cut Fries and Poblano-Blue Cheese Butter; and Chocolate Peppermint Cheesecake with a Candy Cane Cookie Crust.
On Christmas Day, the dining extravaganza will begin with a selection from a menu of traditional holiday specialties that include Smoked Turkey Gumbo; Waldorf Salad; and Roasted Pumpkin Soup. Guests will then be welcome to an extensive buffet of traditional entrees such as Roasted Turkey with Stuffing; Prime Rib; and Roasted Rack of Lamb, in addition to hearty sides that include Buttermilk Yukon Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta. A sprawling sweets display completes the menu with freshly baked pies, tortes, hot desserts and cookie treats. Both dining events are priced at $58 per person with reservations available on Christmas Eve from 5 -10 pm and Christmas Day from 2 – 10pm.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations
24th Street Speakeasy
On New Year’s Eve, the Grand Ballroom will transform into a glamorous prohibition era-esque speakeasy, hosting a lively celebration with live musical performances, top-shelf bottle service, late night dessert bar and festive midnight countdown with champagne toast and balloon drop. The adults-only 24th Street Speakeasy celebration begins at 9:30pm is priced at $50 per person

New Year’s Eve Dinner at Wrights
An elegant epicurean experience will be presented in Wrights at The Biltmore on New Year’s Eve with a paired, five-course dinner. A cocktail reception with decadent bites will begin at 7:00pm and dinner will be presented at 8:00pm. Select menu highlights include Oysters with Cucumber Mignonette; Osetra Caviar with Potato and Crème Fraiche; Foie Gras Torchon with Huckleberry Jam, Grapefruit, Pistachio and Brioche; Pan Seared Dover Sole with Lobster Medallions, Vanilla Celeriac, Melted Leeks and a Citrus-Tarragon Sauce; and Black Truffle Risotto with Iberico, Morels, Sage and Poached Egg. The extravagant adults-only dining experience is priced at $195 per person and includes entry to the 24th Street Speakeasy.

Family Supper Club

For the family that plays together, the New Year’s Eve Supper Club in the Gold Ballroom offers a head start on 2016 fun with a family-friendly dance party timed with New York’s Times Square ball drop. From 6:00pm – 10:00pm, the atmosphere will be electric with a deejay spinning Top 40 hits and a sprawling buffet with menu items that appeal to every member of the family such as a specialty Salsa Bar with freshly prepared Guacamole; raw bar with Shrimp Cocktail; Chargrilled Chicken Breast; Roasted Prime Rib; and a dazzling dessert extravaganza. A 10:00pm “midnight” countdown along with the Times Square ball drop will top off the evening. The New Year’s Eve Supper Club is priced at $68 for adults and $34 for children.
